What I tune
Camaro Z28/SS, Firebird Formula/Trans Am, Corvette, Impala SS, Caprice, Fleetwood, Roadmaster (including the 4.3L L99), plus many trucks and V6 F-Bodies. GM PCMs only — not Ford, Chrysler, or imports. Other GM boxes? Ask with year, engine, and PCM service #.

How we work
Mods, speed-density, boost, or 24X/Torqhead? Prefer Email or Cable Loan — a single Postal tune isn’t meant for long-term use on those setups. Boosted and 24X/Torqhead require Email or Cable.
Basic Tune
Chip $115 · OBDI $100 · OBDII $100 · LS1 $100 shipped (US return postage included)
Quick non-power fixes: rear gear and/or tire size (’94–’97), VATS / AIR / EGR / skip-shift removal, speed-density conversion, or a stock-feeling swap PCM. Postal only.
Need spark, fuel, or automatic transmission changes — or you have real mods? That’s a Power Tune.
Power Tune
Postal: chip $215 · ’94–’95 $200 · ’96–’97 $200 · LSx $225
Everything in Basic, plus torque/HP work, optional MPG lean strategies, and auto shift firmness / points / TCC. Stock LT1s often land in the ~20–30 rwhp range from timing and fine-tuning alone.
- Stock or bolt-on cars wanting better throttle response, power, and mileage
- Injectors, cam, heads, displacement, or compression changes
- Iron ↔ aluminum head swaps; PCM-controlled auto shift behavior
Postal Power is not available for 1985–1995 TBI/TPI, trucks, 24X/Torqhead, or boost — use Email or Cable Loan instead.
MPG Improvement (option)
Open-loop AFR is leaned from your base; closed-loop targets a lower O2 voltage so the PCM runs leaner when sensors are active. Customers have reported large real-world gains (e.g. stock ’94 L99 Caprice 30+ MPG highway moderate setting; stock ’97 LT1 ~14–15 → ~19 MPG with aggressive driving).
Postal mail
Basic & Power · free US return ship
- ’94+ flash PCM: remove it, mail it; I program and return it (typically about a week door-to-door including transit).
- ’93 and earlier chips: I mail a programmed chip — no PCM shipping. Optional piggyback adapter from TunerCat (G1 LT1/TPI, G2 older TBI); some TBI need a soldered socket.
- USPS Ground Advantage or UPS Ground (usually 1–3 business days US; international welcome, often ~1 week).
Not ideal for cammed / injector / SD long-term use. Not available for boost or 24X/Torqhead.
Email method
Power only · OBDI $200 · OBDII LT1 $200 · LSx $250
You have Windows 7+ and your own kit (ALDL cable, software, chip burner if needed). I email a base tune for your setup; no PCM downtime.
Free retunes
Up to three log-based retunes at my discretion/schedule (no time limit, same setup only — not new mods). Extra packs of three: $75 each.
Kit pointers
- OBDI: LT1 Pro Tuning kits from TunerCat (TunerCat + DataCat + ALDL cable; OBD1 Pro kit if you need chip burner/socket/blank chip).
- OBDII: LT-Flash kit (~$250) — flash + data-logger software included (TunerPro + custom XDF for DIY edits too), but only for ’96–’97 LT1 PCMs for now; or Jet Dynamic Spectrum Tuner (DST) (Summit Racing often has the best price, ~$500 now) and ECMPro Scan + enhanced GM diagnostics (~$199), which works with OBD2 LT1 as well as LS1 and Vortec PCMs.
- ’94–’95 flash only (no full kit): buy just an ALDL cable and use free load/log software — see Tips · EEHack / Flashhack.
Vehicle must be healthy: good knock/O2/MAF data, no intake or exhaust leaks, or logs won’t support fine-tuning.
Cable loan
Power · rent my kit · refundable core
- ’94–’05 flash: ALDL cable + software to flash and datalog in the car.
- Chip years: burner/eraser, blank chip, and cable; you burn emailed tunes (erasable chip). Adapter recommended.
- Window: 7 business days (Mon-Fri, no legal holidays) of fine-tuning from first tune (weekends don’t count). Extra week: $75 (’94–’95), $75 (’96–’97), $75 (LSx).
- Core refunded when the kit returns; OBDII kits deduct $25 for use/fees. Keep it a week past paid rental (or keep it) → core becomes a purchase.
Need: Windows laptop with USB, comfort installing drivers/software, factory ALDL port, internet for file exchange. Flashing risk is on you if power drops mid-write — keep batteries healthy / AC plugged in.
Same healthy-sensor requirement as Email.
