Who's the one offering these tips and tuning service? What kind of experience does he have? Read below to find out!
I, like you, am a car enthusiast who has found the value and fun-factor in the LT1 engine. I enjoy the fruits of this engine in a GM F-Body: my six-speed '95 Camaro Z28.
Since the year 2000 or so, I've learned how the car responds to different tuning methods. And now after having recently had a larger, aftermarket camshaft installed, have picked up more about the basics of spark timing and fueling.
Much of what I offer on the site, including the tuning service, is very simple: as easy as clicking a toggle switch in software. But some of it requires a repeated process, which can only practically be done in your own car with your own tuning setup.
I've been offering this service as a fellow LT1 owner for many years, with good success and feedback. Over the years, with just an informal, personal webpage offering the service, I've tuned over 30 PCMs for LT1 owners just like you; some with F-Bodies and some transplanting the engine/PCM into other vehicles.
Now I've started this website dedicated to offering what I've learned free, as well as my inexpensive tuning service. I am still an LT1 owner, just like you!
Several people have asked why my prices are so low compared to other tuners. My answer is two-fold:
I hope that I can be a help to you, either with the tips I offer free or with my inexpensive tuning service. Use the contact form to get in touch with me!
Following a fairly major upgrade to my stock LT1 Trans Am (cam, heads, injectors, MAF, headers, etc) I was in need of a custom tune. I found Solomon on the internet and from my initial inquiry to the final tune Solomon provided a first class service.
As we progressed through the process of unlocking the power in the engine each tune he sent me would register on my "seat of the pants" dyno and the logs backed it up. He turns around logs with a new tune in a matter of hours and his knowledge, both mechanical and as a tuner, are very impressive.
The HP and torque figures on the final tunes (375rwhp/400rwtq) are proof of what he can do and I would recommend to any enthusiast out there if you're looking for a tune and a tuner, look no further.
Above all of this though is his friendliness and wanting to get the best out of your car for you.
First off, excellent job with the writeup! It has no doubt helped a great deal thus far... Thank you very much for your help!
Simply signup as a customer and then order a PCM tune! If you have any questions before ordering, just use the form to contact me!
If you decide you like the idea of tuning on your own, visit TunerCat and purchase the C.A.T.S. Tuner software to get started ($69.95). For working on your '94 or '95 LT1 PCM, you'll need the $EE definition file as well ($19.95), or $DA3 for the '93 F-Body.
Then just get yourself an OBDI cable and computer, and you're ready!
